WORMINGHALL

Worminghall is a village of 583 people (2021 census) on the border with Oxfordshire, with a brook running along its boundary that feeds into the River Thame. Its pub, the Clifden Arms, has medieval origins with a 17th-century extension and is now a gastropub and hotel. The village hall, a Victorian building of polychromatic brick, was formerly the village school. Much of the northern part of the parish was once RAF Oakley, an airfield that operated from 1942 to 1945; many of its buildings survive and now form the Wornal Industrial Park.

Commuting: around 5 miles to Thame, 7 miles to Haddenham & Thame Parkway station (with direct trains to Oxford and London Marylebone), 10 miles to Oxford by car.

Schools: Worminghall has no primary school of its own — children attend Ickford Combined School, which also serves the neighbouring parish of Shabbington.
